As an independent researcher I conduct original research, write reports and briefings, and promote findings at events and conferences. I have worked with a wide range of organisations, and recently led an eight country research project for the British Council on ‘smart cities’ which attracted national and international press coverage.
I am Head of Research at the National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education, an Associate at Yorkshire Universities, an Associate at Work and Learning Opportunities (a Sussex-based social enterprise), and an Advisory Associate at the Class of 2020, a Dutch NGO focused on urban campuses. I am also a reading committee member for the UK Government’s Chevening scholarship programme.
Over the past few years I have also completed work for the Royal Society, Rwanda Action, KPMG, GuildHE, the UK Government Office for Science, the UK government’s Commonwealth scholarship programme, the Higher Education Funding Council for England (now Research England) and British Council International Education Services.
I am studying for a PhD at UCL Institute of Education, looking at the roles of universities in cities around the world (more detail here). In the past I’ve worked for Universities UK, UNESCO and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
